Residents said the attackers stormed the community in large numbers in the early hours of Monday, invading a residential building and abducting three women and four children.
The gunmen were also reported to have attacked a nearby phone charging centre where they shot and killed a young man identified as Abdullahi Lawal, popularly known as “Kurma.”
Sources in the community said the attackers carted away several mobile phones and laptops from the charging centre before fleeing the area.
Lawal, who was deaf and non-verbal, reportedly sustained a gunshot wound to the head during the attack and was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
However, he died before reaching the medical facility, according to residents who spoke to journalists.
The deceased was later buried in Sabon Gyero community in accordance with Islamic rites.
