2026 WCQ playoffs: Super Eagles fired up Congo clash – Chelle

Super Eagles head coach, Éric Chelle says his players are fired up for the crucial clash with the Democratic Republic of Congo, DAILY POST reports.

Nigeria will take on Sebastian Desabre’s side in the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex, Rabat on Sunday (today).

Victory in the highly anticipated encounter will see the Super Eagles compete in the Intercontinental Playoffs in March 2026.

The mini-tournament will take place at two Mexican cities of Guadalajara and Monterrey.

Chelle said the playoffs is another opportunity for his team to earn a berth at the World Cup having missed out on automatic qualification.

“We would have preferred to have taken the automatic ticket but it didn’t work out. Now, we are here and we have a second chance and we do not intend to bungle it,” Chelle told thenff.com.
