2027: How ADC Will Choose Presidential Candidate To Challenge Tinubu – Dalung

Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung , says the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is built around presenting a united front and not about individual politicians in the party.

Speaking on Sunday during an interview appearance on Channels Television, Dalung boasted that the party has enough persons who can confront and defeat President Bola Tinubu at the polls in 2027.

According to him, the abundance of capable contenders is an advantage to the party.

“So I think we have so many people to challenge Tinubu.

“I can decide to contest the election, and I will challenge him,” he said.

On the probability that the plethora of individuals may lead to divisions within the ADC over its presidential candidate, Dalung disclosed that the members have agreed to avoid such situations and support the candidate who emerges from a credible primary election.

“We are going to conduct a transparent primary, and we have also resolved that whoever wins a transparent primary will be the person all of us support to challenge Tinubu.

“So, challenging Tinubu is not an individual issue. It’s not the issue of the candidate; it’s the issue of the party. That resolution has been issued and approved,” Dalung said.

He identified former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, former Rivers State governor and ex-minister Rotimi Amaechi, former Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola, former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, John Odigie-Oyegun, and former Senate President David Mark, among others as some of the prominent politicians in the ADC who have come together under the coalition to unseat President Tinubu.
