A regional political support group, South East Democratic Forum, (SEDEF) has lauded leaders of the coalition movement under the platform of the African Democratic Congress, (ADC) for its solid organization and mobilization towards the 2027 general election in Ebonyi state, South East and entire country in general.

The Coalition movement at the weekend had its maiden meeting in Ebonyi state.

Reacting to the development through a statement signed by the group’s National President, Chris Ogbu and endorsed by the National Publicity Secretary, Charles Otu, commended the leaders and coalition partners for their foresight in embracing the new national political rhythm of the national coalition in offering alternative democratic ideas to Nigeria especially at a time such as this.

The statement read in part: “As a group, we have carefully watched the unfolding events and political dynamics happening across our nation, Nigeria and we wish to commend the leaders of opposition political parties for offering the electorates and indeed the masses political hope and for being alternative voices to our democracy.

“The hope of a fresh breathe of opposition that will challenge the current government and its glaring failures in all spheres of governance has now risen highly with the coming together of these men of diverse calibres and backgrounds. Together, they will give Nigerians the credible alternative they have all been yearning for”, the statement added.

It concluded that, “As a humanitarian pressure group and a political machinery affiliated to progressive and democratic values and initiatives, SEDEF seeks the emergence of a people-oriented, afro-centric and democratic leadership across the country.”
