2027: Why ADC was chosen as coalition party – Youth leader

2027: Why ADC was chosen as coalition party – Youth leader

Balarabe Rufai, the National Youth leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has explained why the coalition team chose the party as its political platform of choice.

Rufai while speaking at the national secretariat of the ADC in Abuja on Saturday said the 2027 election will be between Nigerians with a good conscience and those who lack it.

Describing youths as the backbone of the ADC, Rufai said he was certain the party would oust the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu from office in 2027.

He further assured that the leaders within the coalition team and the adopted party are those with a good conscience.

His words, “This is no longer about tribes or geopolitical zones. It is now between those who have a conscience and those who do not. And that is what the 2027 election will be about.

“Some of our leaders have been approached by the current administration with offers of contracts and appointments, but they rejected them. They said Enough is enough. That’s why we trust them. But even with that trust, let me be clear, we will not idolise them,” Rufai said.

Speaking further, Rufai said the party is keen on participation and accountability from all members of the ADC.

“One of the major criteria was to find a political party that is not driven by religion, ethnicity, or regional sentiment. For two years, they searched, and in all honesty, the only party that met this standard was the ADC. The ADC is not a northern party. It is not a southern party. It is not a Muslim or Christian party. The ADC is a party for ordinary Nigerians — for all Nigerians,” he added.
