Nigerian music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, has publicly pleaded for calm and a “ceasefire” following the recent controversies surrounding him and his wife, Natasha Osawaru. The plea came in a video statement released shortly after the artist made a disruptive appearance on a social media live session, which was discussing his alleged arrest in the UK back in October and marital issues.

The controversy escalated when 2Baba unexpectedly joined a live broadcast hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze, which featured his former managers, Lori Tosan and Kaka Igbokwe. The discussion, which centered on the singer’s private life, was interrupted by 2Baba, who told the participants to “shut the fuck up.” Shortly after he could be heard arguing with Natasha, further fueling the flames.

Today, 2Baba released a public statement in the form of a video. “This is getting out of hand. This is a dangerous situation right now,” he said, urging the public and his family to back down. He emphasized that the public drama was unfairly impacting his wife, Natasha, saying, “This is putting Natasha at risk. It’s not fair on anybody to do this kind of thing. It’s not fair on anybody at all.”

The singer also sought to clarify a cryptic “help me” post that had appeared on his social media account earlier, stating, “I am perfectly fine. I did not post that post.” He acknowledged that marital issues are common, noting, “People dey get issue for house. No be today,” but insisted that the current public spectacle had become excessive. He concluded his message with a direct appeal: “Please, friends, family, everybody, cease fire. Please, I beg you. I am perfectly fine.”
