Fake Austin Reaves Makes His Debut at Lakers-Warriors Playoff Game

TikTok personality Eric Decker, better known as @airrack, pulls off a seemingly impossible stunt before Game 4 between the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors at Crypto.com Arena: He manages to bypass not one but two security checkpoints by pretending to be Lakers guard Austin Reaves.

This prank comes after last year’s Fake Klay Thompson incident, where another online prankster impersonated the Golden State Warriors’ star player to get into a playoff game at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

Decker’s impersonation of Reaves is fairly elaborate, with him wearing an outfit similar to what the real Reaves has been photographed wearing before games. But what seals the deal is the contact lenses Decker wears to change his eye color from blue to brown, which matches Reaves’s eye color. He even wears a mask to further obscure his face.

Crypto.com Arena security briefly stopped Decker’s vehicle at the drop-off area before ultimately letting them pass. He then made it past another layer of security at the metal detectors, where he had to show his face but still somehow wasn’t caught.

In the video that Decker shared on TikTok, he can be seen walking around in the arena tunnels and even making his way onto the court area. Shockingly, no one seemed to notice that he wasn’t the real Austin Reaves.

Despite Decker’s successful prank, it’s unlikely that he would be able to do the same at Chase Center, as their security measures have likely been tightened after last year’s incident.

Decker wrote in his caption that, “For legal reasons, I did buy a ticket to this game” and shared scenes from the stands during the contest.

The stunt is a testament to the saying, “Act like you’re supposed to be there,” and Decker certainly did just that. Fans and security personnel alike will undoubtedly be more vigilant after this incident, but it’s always entertaining to see the lengths some people will go to for a good prank.
