Nine women have benefitted from the Fidelity Bank Plc Entrepreneur Support Scheme in Kano State as part of the bank’s initiative of empowering women to acquire tailoring and other skills.

Speaking on behalf of the bank during the graduation ceremony held at the Dangote Business School in Bayero University yesterday, the  SME product manger, Mr Chiwuike Okere,  said the main concept of the training was to  support women acquire skill in tailoring.

“As part of our plan to support women’s economic empowerment, we have designed what we  call “Her Fidelity” programme in order to support them in various fields  of human endeavour.

“What we did was to  partner MDEE Fashion and Design to train nine    young ladies on fashion and design.

“We didn’t train  them only,  but we also provided them modern sewing machines and equipment  to start up their own businesses,” he said.

Chiwuike said at the end of the day, the women would be able to create wealth, earn their own incomes and impact on the society positively.

Hajiya Maimuna Danlami Alhassan, the MD/ CEO, MDEE Tailoring and Fashion School expressed delight with the role played by the bank by engaging her company for the training.

Two of the beneficiaries, Malama Aishatu Abdullahi and Hajiya  Majida Aminu Barde, described the training as very educating as all the participants can now sew different designs.
