The passing of veteran Nollywood actor Obinna Nwafor, also known as Saint Obi, has left fans mourning.
The 57-year-old actor from Imo reportedly passed away on May 7 after a prolonged illness.
Fans and family members have taken to Twitter to pay their respects using hashtags such as #RIP Saint Obi and #Obinna Nwafor.
Nigerian author and social media influencer Reno Omokri shared a photo of himself with the actor, describing him as the “gentlest and most noble Nollywood actor” he had ever met.
Nigerian politician Ahmed Garba also expressed his condolences, stating that Saint Obi’s talent had filled screens for decades.
Saint Obi was a popular actor, film producer, and director, known for his roles in numerous movies such as State of Emergency, Candle Light, and Last Party.
He majored in Theatre Arts at the University of Jos and had starred in over 60 movies.
