In Kaduna Millennium City, a suspected terrorist in the Keke community reportedly blew himself up with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) when security operatives closed in on him and he found it impossible to evade arrest.
The suspect opened fire on security operatives when he discovered that his house was surrounded, leading to an exchange of gunfire.
After he was overpowered by the superior firepower of security forces, he resorted to the use of explosives to blow himself up.
Security operatives later discovered an AK-47 rifle along with two other IEDs that were defused by the anti-bomb squad.
The man’s body was mutilated by the explosives, while his wife and children were taken away by DSS officials in their vehicles.
The incident was confirmed by a community leader, Malam Samaila, but the Kaduna State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Jalige Mohammed, did not respond to text messages or phone calls.
