Ahead of the 10th National Assembly inauguration in June, the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio has revealed why he will not be judged by his ministerial appointment.

Akpabio made this known in Abuja over the weekend while addressing journalists.

Speaking about the allegations of fraud during his tenure as Niger Delta Affairs Minister, Akpabio said everyone is aware that the ministry is a ”problematic place.”

“I do know that I have not changed in any way. I’m somebody that God has given me the opportunity to be an uncommon transformer wherever I go.

“I wouldn’t like to be judged by my ministerial appointment for Niger Delta, which everybody knows is a problematic place. But I would prefer to be judged by my record as a lawyer of 36 years, commissioner of 6 years and a governor of 8 years.”

Newsmen recalls that the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, came under allegations of corruption and went through a forensic audit of over N81.5bn during the Akpabio tenure as a Minister.
