Interim National Chairperson of the Labour Party (LP), Sen. Nenadi Usman, has declared the party as the only viable alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking to journalists on Sunday in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area, Usman urged Nigerians to maintain confidence in the LP, describing it as the most people-focused among the country’s major political parties.
“Our commitment is to restore national pride, inspire hope, and provide governance that prioritizes the people,” she said.
Usman decried the escalating hardships faced by Nigerians, noting that the suffering of the masses has reached critical levels.
Addressing the recent defection of some LP members to the APC, she emphasized that the party remains steadfast and continues to enjoy widespread support from the public.
She stated that those who left were not fully aligned with the LP’s vision, and their departure has enhanced the party’s unity and clarity of purpose.
“We’ve learned from past errors in candidate selection,” Usman admitted.
“Moving forward, we will be more intentional in choosing individuals who truly share our goal of building a transformed Nigeria.”
She called on disgruntled members to reconcile and unite as the LP prepares for a nationwide membership revalidation exercise, congresses, and a national convention.
