Big Brother Naija star, Leo Da Silva, has decried the alarming amount of fake drugs and products sold in supermarkets in Nigeria.
In a tweet shared online, the reality TV star stated that the amount of fake drugs, deodorants, toothpaste and skin care in Nigeria is ridiculous.
He revealed that recently, he bought fake Cod liver oil, Gestid, Sensodyne toothpaste, face wash, deodorant, and mouthwash in the last month.
Leo then called on the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to raid all supermarkets in FCT. He wrote:
“The amount of fake drugs, fake deodorants, fake toothpaste and fake skin care in Nigeria is ridiculous. In one month, I have bought fake Codliver oil, fake Gestid, fake Sensodyne, fake Simple face wash, fake deodorant, etc. NAFDAC need to raid all big supermarkets in Abuja.”

This comes after the CEO of ROK Studios, Mary Remmy Njoku, expressed concerns over the efficacy of medications in Nigeria following her experience with food poisoning on a film set.
According to the mother of three, she took Imodium, a medication used to decrease the frequency of diarrhea, which was purchased from one of the biggest pharmacy chains in Nigeria but the symptoms still persisted after three days.
However, when her husband gave her a tiny tablet of the same Imodium he bought abroad, she felt better within five minutes.
She called on the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to urgently look into the matter as it is a public health risk.
