Super Falcons player, Francisca Ordega has donated relief materials to the Yelwata IDPs taking refuge at the Ultra Modern International Market Makurdi to cushion the effect of their suffering.
Making the donation on behalf of her foundation called Francisca Ordega foundation, the international female footballer expressed deep concern over the plight of the IDPs lamenting that the people were suffering for no genuine reason.
Ordega informed that her foundation was in collaboration with Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) to provide relief materials to to victims noting that she chose to celebrate with the IDPs while she was celebrating the trophy.
She encouraged the younger girls to pursue football so they could carry on her legacy even after she retires from the sport. She shared that her journey wasn’t easy from the start, but she persevered despite the challenges.
In his comment, the Executive/ Permanent Secretary, Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA) Sir James Iorpuu appreciated Miss Ordega for choosing to celebrate with the IDPs.
The BSEMA boss, who represented the Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, commended Ordega for identifying with the IDPs, insisting that Benue and Nigeria at large was proud of her.
Governor Alia charged the youths to humble themselves and emulate, Ordega who has humbled herself to achieve this feat and has promoted the state.
The Managing Director BIPC , Dr. Raymond Asemakaha promised to remain committed in collaborating with Francisca Ordega Foundation for the provision of relief materials to the IDPs and assured that he would continue to provide relief materials to enable the IDPs live better lives.
The MD, BIPC told the IDPs that his company would soon begin to train some IDPs in the area of business to make them live more useful lives.
