JAMB Top Scorer and 2 others Named Warri Brand Ambassadors With Scholarships

Warri South Local Government Council has appointed three outstanding teenagers as Warri Brand Ambassadors.

The honorees include Ebule Oritsemeyiwa Precious, the top scorer in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME); McCarthy Oritsetseyigbemi Jessy, the recipient of the 2025 NDLEA National Award; and Adekunle Oluwasegun David, a promising young saxophonist.

These exceptional young people were recognised for their achievements in academics, national recognition, and the arts.

The official ceremony, held on August 4, 2025, during the council’s executive meeting, was a celebration of their hard work and dedication. Comrade Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, Chairman of Warri South, emphasised the importance of rewarding merit and excellence.

He said, “Excellence pays. Doing the right thing pays. If people are not rewarded for doing good, they might think their efforts are in vain.”

Ebule Oritsemeyiwa Precious, just 16 years old, achieved an impressive 334 in the 2025 U TME. To honour his academic excellence, he has been awarded a fully-funded four-year scholarship for university studies.

McCarthy Oritsetseyigbemi Jessy, who was recognised with the 2025 NDLEA National Award, was given ₦2,139,000 to cover her 2025 tuition fees. Additionally, Adekunle Oluwasegun David, a gifted saxophonist, received ₦500,000 to support his education and musical career.

In addition to these accolades, Mr. Jolly Omatie, a dedicated volunteer teacher at Ukpotiki Primary School in the riverine area, was also honoured. He received a monthly stipend of ₦77,000 for his tireless work as a teacher, benefiting the local community.

This recognition initiative aligns with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, which focuses on merit-based development and the betterment of grassroots communities. The Warri South Council aims to strengthen the Warri brand through individuals who embody integrity and excellence.
