Nigeria Congratulates Jamaica On Independence Anniversary, Commits To Bilateral Partnership On Trade, Others

ABUJA – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has extended Nigeria’s warmest congratulations to Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica, on the joyous occasion of her country’s 61st Independence Anniversary.

He said that Nigeria remains committed to further strengthening bilateral relations with Jamaica, particularly in the areas of trade, education, tourism, sport and cultural exchange for the mutual benefit of the people.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, on Wednesday, the minister said that Nigeria and Jamaica share deep historical and cultural ties rooted in a common heritage, resilience, and a shared commitment to the advancement of the African diaspora.

“As fellow members of the global community, both countries continue to enjoy strong bonds of friendship, mutual respect, and fruitful cooperation.

“On this important milestone, Nigeria commends Jamaica’s remarkable achievements in governance, culture, education, sports, and sustainable development, accomplishments that continue to inspire admiration across the Caribbean, Africa, and beyond.

“Nigeria remains committed to further strengthening bilateral relations with Jamaica, particularly in the areas of trade, education, tourism, sport and cultural exchange for the mutual benefit of our people.
