CHAN: I wasn’t expecting 4-0 scoreline against Nigeria – Sudan coach, Appiah

Sudan coach, Kwesi Appiah has admitted that he was not expecting his team to beat Nigeria 4-0 during both sides’ 2024 African Nations Championship, CHAN, clash on Tuesday.

Appiah watched as Sudan thrashed the Super Eagles B team to send Nigeria out from the competition.

An own-goal from Leonard Ngenge and goals from Walieldin Khedr (1) and Abdel Raouf (2) gave Appiah’s the victory against Eric Chelle’s side.

The result leaves Sudan on top of Group D with four points from two games.

Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Appiah told reporters:

“I wasn’t expecting that scoreline.

“I knew we could beat Nigeria but not by that scoreline (4-0).”

Sudan will now take on Senegal in their last group game tie next week.
