The Lagos State Police Command has arrested six suspected members of a cult group in connection with the brutal murder of a man identified as Kamoru, popularly known as “Keeper,” during a violent cult clash in the Ebute Meta area of Lagos.
This was disclosed to journalists on Wednesday by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin.
According to him, the arrests followed an intelligence-led operation carried out by detectives attached to the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Surulere, on July 17.
The suspects were identified as Raphael Ashim (30), Wasiu Kareem (33), Sadiq Olabisi (40), Olamilekan Oluwatosin (27), Olalekan Olugbodi (54), and Ibrahim Oladimeji (22).
“All of whom were involved in a cult clash in Ebute Meta and its environs, which led to the gruesome murder of one Kamoru alias “Keeper ” ‘m’ aged 30,” Hundeyin stated.
He added that efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the syndicate who remain at large, as well as to recover their operational tools.
The arrested suspects have been charged to court and are currently awaiting trial.
