After an old Interview resurfaced of Omah Lay putting out hints of a colleague of his stealing ideas he had shared with them in private and going on to release an album that had similar themes and features to the ideas that he had shared, forcing him to scrape his own project with the original ideas.

In the early hours of Monday morning, alleged screenshots taken from the singer’s burner account went viral, suggesting that the colleague he had accused of stealing his ideas was Rema.

In the conversation gleaned from the screenshots, the two had discussed a collaboration and had explored a partnership to experiment on a new sound, which led to the exchange of creative ideas, which Omah Lay is now allegedly accusing the artist of stealing.

Music enthusiasts and blogs have hinted at the timely leak of the screenshots to mean that it is a confirmation of Omah Lay’s claim in the resurfaced interview, while others are speculating that it may be a sort of controversy to push an album roll out for the artist. 

Neither artists have confirmed nor denied or addressed the rumors.
