Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying that Nigeria would be like the United States of America if it had produced two presidents with similar leadership qualities.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Esan Central ahead of the upcoming Edo Central by-election, Okpebholo commended Tinubu’s leadership and economic reforms, describing them as transformative for the country.

“The president we have today, if Nigeria had had two of such presidents, Nigeria would’ve been like America,” he told supporters.

Okpebholo also highlighted Tinubu’s efforts to stabilize the economy through tax reforms, citing the recently assented tax reform bills as examples of progress under his administration.

The governor further promised strong electoral support for Tinubu in 2027, stating, “I, your son, have promised Mr. President 2.5 million votes. By the grace of God, come 2027, we’re going to deliver that vote to Mr. President.”

Before assuming office as governor in November last year, Okpebholo served as the Senator representing Edo Central. He resigned from the National Assembly upon taking office and has since been actively mobilizing support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of upcoming elections.
