Nigerian Patrick Oluyide Elected Toastmasters International Director for Region 11
A Nigerian, Patrick Oluyide, Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM), has been elected as the Toastmasters International Director for Region 11, marking a historic milestone for the global communication and leadership development organization.
Oluyide emerged victorious in a highly contested election involving three other candidates during the Toastmasters International Convention held in Philadelphia, United States. The annual convention brought together thousands of members from around the world to celebrate leadership, communication, and organizational growth.
His victory is particularly significant as it is the first time a candidate from West and Central Africa, specifically District 130 and District 94, has been elected to the prestigious position.
As International Director, Oluyide will serve on the Board of Directors of Toastmasters International, where he will help shape policies, set strategic direction, and oversee the growth and development of clubs across Region 11, which covers Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Asia.
Oluyide previously served as the District Director of District 94, where he was credited with expanding Toastmasters’ presence in Nigeria and other West African countries, driving membership growth, and strengthening clubs.
Congratulating him on the achievement, Alhassan Mohammed, DTM, Immediate Past Division J Director for District 130, described Oluyide’s election as a proud moment for Nigeria and the entire West and Central African Toastmasters community.
“Patrick Oluyide is highly experienced and truly cut out for this role. His victory is not only a personal achievement but also a proud moment for Nigeria, District 130, District 94, and the entire West and Central African Toastmasters community. We are confident that under his leadership, Region 11 will achieve greater growth and visibility,” Mohammed said.
