The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has
described Canada as the best country in the world.
Akanbi made the assertion while disclosing the renewal of
his Canadian passport within 24 hours of application.
In a video online, the traditional monarch also expressed
hope that Nigeria will be great someday.
He said: “My passport is going to expire next year and I
deemed it fit to come and renew my passport, it’s 24 hours service.
“I renewed my passport from this old one and you can see
they punched holes on that, so I got the new one.
“Another 10-year passport renewal of the best country in the
world. Nigeria is going to be best too, but right now, Canada is the best
country in the world, believe me.”
This comes as the Nigerian government, through the Nigeria
Immigration Service, NIS, announced a hike in the cost of obtaining an
international passport.
With the new increase, a 32-page booklet goes for N100,000
while 64 pages go for N200,000.
