INEC recognises Mark-led ADC leadership

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognised the Sen. David Mark-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that, as of Wednesday, the commission uploaded the names of Mark and other new NWC members on its website.

Among those listed to replace the former Raph Nwosu-led NWC was Mr Rauf Aregbesola, who now serves as the party’s National Secretary.

Also published on INEC’s website were Mani Ahmad as National Treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary, and Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor as National Legal Adviser.

The outgoing National Chairman, Raph Nwosu, had on July 2 announced the appointment of David Mark as interim chairman and Aregbesola as interim secretary.

The development, however, generated disagreement among some party members, who argued that the coalition’s adoption of ADC and the transition of leadership were not properly executed
