Benue Assembly Sacks Principal Officers, Appoints New Leadership

 

September 11, (THEWILL) — The Benue State House of Assembly has dissolved its principal officers and appointed new ones to steer its legislative affairs.

At Thursday’s plenary, presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Alfred Emberga, Hon. Thomas Dugeri was named the new Majority Leader, replacing Saater Tiseer.

Other appointments include Hon. Abraham Jabi (Buruku) as Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Cyril Ikong as Majority Chief Whip, and Hon. Simon Gabo as Deputy Majority Whip.

On the minority side, Hon. Abu Umoro emerged as Minority Leader, while Rt. Hon. Cephas Dyako was announced as Deputy Minority Leader. Hon. Samuel Jiji was appointed Minority Whip, with Hon. Moses Egbodo as his deputy.
