Buckwyld Media Network, in partnership with Entertainment & Creative Partners (ECP), has launched a powerful new advocacy initiative titled Educate 2 Empower (E2E), aimed at addressing the growing crisis of girl-child education in Nigeria.

The campaign seeks to break down systemic barriers that prevent millions of Nigerian girls from accessing quality education.

Central to the initiative is a documentary, Adda: Empowered by Education, which tells the inspiring story of Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, Nigeria’s first female President of the Court of Appeal. Through her journey, the film highlights the life-changing impact of education and serves as a rallying cry for nationwide action.

The documentary will premiere on October 11, 2025, International Day of the Girl Child, and is set to reach an estimated 50 million viewers across Nigeria and the diaspora via platforms like Arewa24 and NTA Hausa.

The urgency of this project is rooted in staggering statistics. Nigeria currently has 18 million out-of-school children, with over 60% of them being girls. The northern regions are particularly affected, with the Northeast and Northwest recording 59% and 62% out-of-school rates, respectively. States like Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Kebbi, Sokoto, Yobe, and Zamfara have all reported rates above 50%. These numbers reflect more than just a crisis; they represent futures cut short and cycles of poverty and inequality that continue to deepen.

According to Efe Omorogbe, Founder and CEO of Buckwyld Media and the initiator of the E2E campaign, the project is driven by a strong sense of responsibility and the belief in the transformative power of storytelling. “We are well aware of the immense capacity of film to influence perspectives and engender behavioural change,” he said. “Combined with online engagement to prompt action, we believe our modest initiative can contribute significantly to the efforts of stakeholder organizations and corporate players working tirelessly to reverse this unacceptable situation.”

The Educate 2 Empower campaign will blend impactful storytelling with digital engagement and community outreach. One of its major components is the Online Career Day Challenge, where girls aged 10 to 15, with parental consent, will submit one-minute videos expressing their career dreams. Winners will receive scholarships, digital devices, and mentorship support. The campaign also aims to actively involve parents, educators, religious leaders, and policymakers through strategic outreach and dialogue sessions. A prize-giving event will crown the initiative, recognizing outstanding participants and celebrating the efforts of partners, government officials, and development agencies involved.

Beyond its social impact, the campaign offers significant value for corporate partners, including widespread brand visibility across TV and digital platforms, alignment with key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 4 and 5), enhanced community goodwill, and long-term CSR documentation and staff engagement. The ultimate goal is ambitious yet urgent: to return 50,000 girls to school by September 2026.
