It was gathered that siblings alongside their mother, Mrs Joshua Anthony and sister, Amina Joshua Anthony, were on their way to a wedding when the accident occurred.
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has mourned the tragic passing of Miss Abiyatu Joshua, Chief Admin Officer in the Directorate of Research and Documentation at the Government House, Gombe, who lost her life alongside her brother, Alfa, a Youth Corps member, in a motor accident.
The accident occurred on September 7, 2025 along Kaltungo- Gombe road.
It was gathered that siblings alongside their mother, Mrs Joshua Anthony and sister, Amina Joshua Anthony, were on their way to a wedding when the accident occurred.
The survivors are currently receiving medical attention at Federal Medical Centre (FTH) Gombe.
In a statement issued on Friday, September 12, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Director-General (Press Affairs) Gombe State Government House, said Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the late Miss Abiyatu as a promising young lady, a hardworking and humble staff member, and a dutiful individual whose loss is deeply painful.
He also noted that the late Alfa was a disciplined young man, whose exemplary conduct at his place of primary assignment at the Gombe State Transport Service reflected great promise.
The Governor extended his heartfelt sympathies to their elder sister, Amina Joshua, and mother, who sustained injuries in the accident and are currently receiving medical treatment.
