The governor announced the development in a social media post on Monday, September 15, adding that the appellate court will be established in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Source: Twitter Governor Abiodun expressed the confidence that the development will bring “quicker dispensation of justice” for the people of the state and that it would relieve the burden of loads on the shoulders of the “Ibadan Division” of the court and “strengthen the foundation of fairness in our dear state.”
Abiodun promises to uphold justice Abiodun noted that justice remains the “bedrock of every prosperous society” and promised that his administration would continue to give adequate support to the judiciary, saying he would prioritise the judicial officers’ welfare as well as enhance their efficiency with adequate provisions.
He vowed to uphold the integrity of the legal system, defend the judiciary’s independence and “entrench democratic ideals” for the development and growth of the state.
His statement reads in part:

AbdulRazaq Oshogbade commended the development and called for the creation of a Sharia Court:
“Good development. Anticipating! The Sharia court and the Sharia court of appeal are to ensure the adjudication of Islamic Personal status as enshrined under the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It’s achievable, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun.” Oyetunde also commended the move:

APC suspends Ogun senator Legit.ng earlier reported that the APC in Ogun has announced the suspension of Gbenga Daniel, the senator representing Ogun East and former governor of the state.
Nuberu Olufemi, the APC spokesperson in the state, disclosed the development in a statement, adding that Daniel was suspended along with Hon. Kunle Folarin.
The APC explained that Daniel and Folarin were suspended because they failed to appear before the disciplinary committee and respond to anti-party allegations levelled against them.
