2027: APC Prepared, Tinubu Will Win Again – Yilwatda

2027: APC Prepared, Tinubu Will Win Again – Yilwatda

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that it is not divided, affirming that it is powerful and well equipped to take on the 2027 general elections.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports the National Chairman of the party, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda made the disclosure in an interview on the Sunrise Daily programme on Channels Television on Wednesday.

According to Prof. Yilwatda, the party has remained stable and internally cohesive, unlike other opposition parties that are now struggling with intra-party wrangles.

He also boasted that President Bola Tinubu will secure a second term in 2027.

“Look at it this way, we had our National Executive Council, NEC, that elected me. There was no single opposing voice from the APC members. No governor or National Assembly member and no divergent voice across the country on my election.

“Unlike other political parties. You know what is happening there. The kind of internal wrangling or crisis. Lack of democracy within them, taking themselves to court on several issues.

“We had a bye-election. You discovered how smooth it went. No court case or crisis across all the constituencies we won. This tells you the type of internal democracy that the APC has.

“Our party (APC) is intact, we are still formidable, prepared and remain the preferred political party for Nigerians,” he said.

Yilwatda’s remarks come amid the growing threat posed by the opposition coalition platform, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Meanwhile, parties such as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) have also grappled with leadership crises in recent months.

The APC will be looking to consolidate its position and retain power in the 2027 general election.
