The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, said on Thursday he would not impose commissioners on the returning Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
Fubara returned to office on Thursday after he completed the six-month suspension imposed by President Bola Tinubu.
The President had on Wednesday lifted the state of emergency imposed on Rivers on March 18 over the protracted political crisis in the oil-rich state.
Wike, who featured on a Channels Television’s programme, Politics Today, said he would not interfere in Fubara’s administration.

The minister stressed that the governor must be allowed to govern Rivers State without external interference.
Wike said: “I cannot go and impose anything on the governor. Why would I impose anything on the governor?
“Assuming I go to the governor and say, ‘I want this,’ will the state collapse? I will not. I have no candidate, and I will not.”
