Alex Iwobi was the star of the show at Craven Cottage on Saturday night, scoring and assisting within 98 seconds to power Fulham to a 3-1 win over Brentford in the Premier League.
The Super Eagles midfielder turned the contest around after Mikkel Damsgaard had fired the visitors ahead in the 20th minute, ensuring Marco Silva’s men bounced back strongly in front of their home supporters.
Quickfire double turns game around
Iwobi levelled the score in the 38th minute, reacting quickest to a loose ball after Nathan Collins failed to clear Saša Lukić’s deflected strike.
Seconds later, the Nigerian international turned provider, slipping a through pass to Harry Wilson, who struck low into the bottom corner to give Fulham the lead.

The turnaround lifted the atmosphere at Craven Cottage, with Fulham seizing control of the match after a shaky opening spell.
The Cottagers continued to press forward and were rewarded when Rodrigo Muniz added a third in the second half to seal the result.
Consistency from Nigerian midfielder
Iwobi’s contributions take his tally to three direct involvements in five league games this season, continuing the form that made him one of Fulham’s most reliable performers last term.
The 29-year-old scored nine goals and registered six assists in 38 appearances during the previous campaign, narrowly missing out on European qualification with the London club.
Manager Marco Silva has repeatedly highlighted Iwobi’s versatility and work rate for the side, as he showed it once again against Brentford.
Nigerians in the spotlight
While Iwobi stole the headlines, his compatriot Frank Onyeka remained on the bench for Brentford throughout the game, alongside Samuel Chukwueze, who was also an unused substitute for Fulham.
Their absence left Iwobi and Calvin Bassey as the only Super Eagles representatives on the pitch, and they delivered.
