NSCDC, United Healthcare, collaborate for free medical services to Jahi people

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, is partnering with the United Healthcare, a health management organisation, to provide free medical services to residents of the Jahi community in Abuja, according to a press statement from DSC Monica Ojobi, the FCT Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, FCT Command, at the weekend.

The outreach program featured, free blood pressure checks, to help identify and manage hypertension cases in the community;
HIV screening to promote awareness and provide necessary treatment and support and supply and distribution of essential drugs to children, adults, and the elderly, to ensure access to vital medications.

The FCT Commandant, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, emphasized the NSCDC’s commitment to serving the people, promoting good health, safety, and security.
“This outreach is our way of showing commitment to the well-being of the community and our dedication to building stronger relationships with the people we serve,” he said.

The Commandant noted that the partnership with United Healthcare aims to complement government efforts in addressing healthcare challenges in the community.

The traditional Chief of Jahi Community, Chief Adamu Dogo, expressed gratitude to the NSCDC FCT Command for the initiative, describing it as a historic gesture. He urged residents to support the Corps’ security efforts by providing useful intelligence on criminal activities in the area.

This partnership reflects the NSCDC’s efforts to promote community well-being and strengthen relationships with the people they serve.
By providing free medical services, the NSCDC and United Healthcare aim to improve healthcare access and outcomes for Jahi community residents.
