The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed a total sum of N42,787,200.00 to 339 students of Adeyemi Federal University of Education in Ondo, Ondo State.
The disbursement, made on August 28, 2025, covers institutional charges for the 2024/2025 academic session.
NELFUND in its X platform noted that, “This disbursement underscores our continued commitment to supporting educational institutions and empowering individuals through targeted funding.”
The institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. B.I. Popoola acknowledged receipt of the funds in a letter dated September 5, 2025, and commended the management of NELFUND for their intervention.
According to Popoola, the payment was received via the university’s Central Bank of Nigeria account.
“This is to acknowledge the receipt of forty-two million, seven hundred and eighty-seven thousand, two hundred naira only (N42,787,200.00) by NELFUND, being the Institutional Charges for the 2024/2025 Academic Session for three hundred and thirty-nine (339) students of Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo.
“The payment was received via our CBN account on 28″ August, 2025 by 16:56h.
“We also wish to commend the Management of NELFUND for this intervention, while we look forward to further mutual cooperation,” he noted.
As of September 23, 2025, NELFUND said it has disbursed a total of ₦99,553,077,293 in student loans, benefiting 510,378 students across the country.
The breakdown of the disbursement includes ₦53,801,717,293 paid in institutional fees for 228 institution beneficiaries and ₦45,751,360,000 paid in upkeep allowances.
The Federal Government established the NELFUND to provide financial support to students and promote access to quality education in Nigeria.
