Olorogun Oskar Ibru, businessman and chairman of the Ibru Organisation, has died at the age of 67.
Though details of his death are still unclear, family sources confirmed he passed away on Wednesday after a short illness.
Oskar Ibru was the first son of the late businessman, Olorogun Michael Ibru. He was from Agbarha-Otor in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The news of his death has thrown the Agbarha-Otor Kingdom into mourning.
Joseph Umudjere, President General of the kingdom, said Ibru’s death was a heavy loss.
“We did not expect him to leave us at this difficult time when we needed him most. The whole kingdom is in mourning. But we cannot question God, who gives and takes,” he said.
Also reacting, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, described the news as shocking.
“It is a great loss,” he said while consoling the Ibru family and the Agbarha-Otor Kingdom.
