After Clash With Abure, Edo Police Detain Obidient Activist, Mama P

The Edo State Police Command has reportedly detained activist and Obidient movement member, Precious Oruche, popularly known as Mama P.

Naija News reports that this was made known on Saturday by the Interim National Coordinator of Obidient Movement Worldwide, Yunusa Tanko.

He called called for urgent intervention and legal support following Mama P’s detention by the Edo State Police, amid controversy over her alleged attack on former Labour Party National Chairman, Julius Abure, at Abuja Airport.

In a post on X, Tanko wrote: “Mama P is been detained at state CID Edo State police headquarters off sapele road Benin city.

“I have just spoken to our legal Director to deploy lawyers to her Rescue. We want more people to come for her Rescue lawyers and all concern should please mount immediately.

“We need everyone support for her NOW!”

He urged members, lawyers, and civil society groups to mobilise and demand her immediate release.

Naija News reports that a viral video had showed some young men trying to drag Oruche out at the exit door of the Benin Airport, but airport security and immigration officers intervened.

Mama Pee claimed one of the thugs hit her in the eye and another threatened to shoot her.

“Look at them oh!!!, see them oh!!! they wants to beat me after Julius Abure and told him that you are the one destroying the lives of Nigerians and then he brings thugs. He brought thugs to harass me. Look at them, can you see them,” she said, while pointing at some group of young men supposedly the thugs that came to attack her at the airport exit door in one of the video clips.

“I saw Julius Abure of Labour Party inside the Max Air, and I told him that you are the one destroying the lives of Nigerians. You sold Labour Party, and then he called his thugs to wait for me at the airport in Benin,” Mama Pee had narrated.
