President Bola Tinubu on Saturday declared that his
administration is resolute in its drive to protect Nigerians against from
poverty, criminality, and terrorism.
Tinubu said kinetic efforts from the military alone can’t
tackle insecurity, hence his administration is determined to tackle
criminality, poverty, and terrorism.
He spoke during the Cadets of 72 Regular Course, Short
Service Course 48, Direct Short Service passing out parade in Kaduna.
Represented by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio,
Tinubu said his administration is prioritizing job creation, macroeconomic
stability, improved investment environment, human capital development, poverty
eradication and poverty reduction and social security.
He said: “My administration has remained unrelenting in our
resolve to provide a holistically safe society for all our citizens by
implementing programmes and policies empowering Nigerians to combat poverty,
criminality and terrorism.
“We recognise that no amount of kinetic effort of our armed
forces and other security agencies will guarantee the safety of our people if
other key drivers of insecurity, such as poverty, unemployment, poor innovation
and general economic and social disintegration have not been tackled.
“That is why, besides defence and internal security, my
administration has continued to prioritise job creation, macroeconomic
stability, improved investment environment, human capital development, poverty
eradication and poverty reduction and social security.
“All these are being concurrently addressed through the
Renewed Hope Agenda, which will drive my doctrine of 4D, diplomacy strategy
centred on promoting democracy, driving economic development and nurturing
Nigeria’s demographic potential and engaging with the diaspora community.
“This way, Nigeria will experience the transformative
strides that would reposition Nigeria as a prime global investment
destination.”
