The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the killing of three members of the Lakurawa group in a joint security operation in Gorun Yamma village, Dandi Local Government Area of the State.
Confirming the development, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, said the operation was launched after the bandits invaded the community.
He explained that a combined team of policemen and vigilantes engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel lasting for hours, and leading to the killing of three members of the terror group, as others escaped into the forest with gunshot wounds.

He said, “On receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Kamba, SP Mohd Bello Lawal, immediately mobilized a combined team of Policemen and vigilantes to the scene and engaged the group where three of them were killed.”

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani, commended the Divisional Police Officer of Kamba and his team for their diligence, bravery and swift response, calling for sustained synergy in the fight against the criminal elements.
“He urged them to sustain the existing synergy amongst them with a view to curbing the emerging activities of Lakurawa terror group and other violent crimes in the state.” the statement added.
