The latest incident was reported on Tuesday, October 7, when an officer’s lifeless body was discovered inside his rented house.
Kiminini sub-county police commander Stephen Mwaniki told TUKO.co.ke in an exclusive interview that the officer’s body was found lying on his bed in a rented house following a search conducted by his colleagues after he was not seen on duty during the day.
”Our curious officers who were on duty got concerned and sought to know why he did not turn up for duty as usual. When they went to his house, they realised that it was locked from the inside. They peeped through the window and noticed he was not responding. Finally, they resolved to break the door and discovered he was dead,” Mwaniki said. Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have already launched investigations to establish the cause of his death.
The police boss said once the cause of the officer’s death is confirmed, they will make it public to the concerned locals.
“It is too early to tell the cause of his death because investigations are underway. DCI officers are on the ground conducting investigations. As soon as we get the findings of the investigations, we will tell the public because it is not something to hide,” the sub-county police commander said. The body of the deceased law enforcement officer was removed and taken to Kiminini Cottage Hospital morgue for preservation as it waits for a postmortem.
This is the fourth incident involving the death of a police officer at the Kiungani Police Station.

It is due to the worrying trend that locals want spiritual leaders to urgently visit the police post located along the busy Kitale-Webuye Highway for prayers and cleansing.
