Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael released from jail EARLY after violating probation following alleged assault of ex Kate Major

Michael Lohan has been released from jail 24 days early, nearly six months after a probation violation landed him behind bars.

The 65-year-old was sentenced to nine months after he violated probation in his felony assault case back in April. The star was on probation after he was arrested for allegedly flipping ex Kate Major out of her chair in February.

But Michael was  released nearly a month early this past Sunday at 1AM, a representative for the Palm Beach County Detention Center in Florida told TMZ.

The rep said Michael obtained early release after garnering ‘gain time’ working as a trustee inmate while locked up.

In a statement obtained by TMZ regarding his release, Michael called the incarceration ‘wrong’ and said he was grateful to have been ‘reunited’ with his sons.

‘I’m thankful for my early release and being reunited with my boys,’ Lohan told the publication. ‘This should have never happened. It was wrong! As usual, there’s a lot more to the story than what’s been reported. I’m just happy to be free and I’m sorry for the negative press it has caused my family.’

The father of Lindsay Lohan said he’s looking forward to moving past this particular chapter, and merely wants peace for both himself and his family in the future.

Daily Mail has contacted a representative for Michael and his daughter Lindsay for comment but did not immediately hear back.

Michael had been on probation after he was charged with felony continuous violence against the family, following his arrest for allegedly assaulting Kate.

The case remains pending, TMZ reports.

Kate contacted authorities after she noticed Michael in the parking lot of a medical building, a spokesperson for the Harris County Sherriff’s Department previously told Daily Mail.

Kate placed a 911 call reporting that ‘she was concerned Michael] was following her,’ authorities said, leading deputies to respond.

Kate told deputies that Michael had ‘flipped’ her out of a chair at their residence a few days earlier, officials said.

Kate, who has past had a series of legal incidents with her estranged spouse, told authorities that ‘she felt pain and discomfort’ as result of his attack on her.

Officials said that Kate, who is mother to two young sons with Michael, showed a female deputy ‘the bruising’ on her body as result of the attack.

Deputies subsequently made contact with Michael, who ‘was arrested without incident at his residence,’ officials said.

The former couple parted in September 2018 when Kate said in a court filing in Florida that the marital union had been ‘irretrievably broken,’ requesting primary custody of their sons in addition to child support and alimony.

Michael is father to two sons with Major – Landon, 12, and Logan, 10. Michael is also father to four children with ex-wife Dina Lohan, 63: Lindsay, 39, Michael Jr., 37, Aliana, 31, and Dakota, 29.

Michael and Major, a one-time entertainment journalist, wed in October 2014 in Hillsboro Beach, Florida, but Lindsay did not attend the nuptials.

They parted in September 2018 when Major said in a court filing in Florida that the marital union had been ‘irretrievably broken,’ requesting primary custody of their sons in addition to child support and alimony.
