The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has vowed not to give in to blackmail and criticism.

He made this statement while inaugurating an access road in Sector Centre B, saying his absence from the last Council of State meeting was due to prior engagements.

Wike explained that he had informed President Bola Tinubu about his absence and had asked the Minister of State to represent him.

He urged the public to be cautious of propaganda and blackmail, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering results despite criticism.

The minister attributed the progress in project completion in the FCT to effective leadership.

Wike said, “I was told I didn’t attend the Council of State meeting because I was unhappy about my nominee. That’s not true. I work for Mr. President, and I respect his judgment. My focus is on delivering results, and achievements will silence critics.

“I had informed the President about my absence due to prior engagements and arranged for the Minister of State, FCT, to represent me. Let’s be cautious of unnecessary propaganda and blackmail. Despite these challenges, staying focused will yield results.”

In her remarks, the Minister of state for FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, described the project as a collective effort to strengthen justice and governance in the nation’s capital.

“This project embodies honour, dignity, and institutional pride, providing befitting residences for our esteemed Heads of Courts who uphold the rule of law in Nigeria,” she said.

She commended President Bola Tinubu for his visionary leadership in redefining infrastructure delivery across the nation and within the FCT. She also praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his dynamic leadership and commitment to transforming Abuja’s infrastructure.
