The newly appointed Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Joash Amupitan, has officially assumed duty at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
Amupitan, who was sworn in earlier on Thursday by President Bola Tinubu at the State House, has commenced a series of meetings with National Commissioners, Directors, senior staff, and members of the INEC Press Corps.
The sessions were aimed at familiarising the new chairman with ongoing activities and setting the tone for his administration.
LEADERSHIP reports that Professor Amupitan succeeds Professor Mahmood Yakubu, who completed two terms as INEC Chairman recently.
