Kamala Harris Finally Breaks Silence After Election Defeat, Hints at 2028 Presidential Ambition

Kamala Harris Finally Breaks Silence After Election Defeat, Hints at 2028 Presidential Ambition

Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has spoken publicly for the first time since her loss in the 2024 presidential election, hinting that she may return to the political stage in 2028.

In a new interview set to air on Sunday, Harris revealed that she could “possibly” run for president again, saying she has not ruled out another shot at the White House.

The 61-year-old, who replaced Joe Biden as the Democratic presidential candidate but lost to Donald Trump, made it clear that her political journey may not be over.

I have lived my entire career a life of service, and it’s in my bones, and there are many ways to serve,” Harris said, adding that she has “not decided yet” what her next move would be.

She emphasized that she is “not done” in American politics and expressed optimism that her young grandnieces would witness a female president in their lifetime.

Her remarks are the strongest indication yet that she could be eyeing a comeback in 2028, sparking fresh conversations within the Democratic Party about potential candidates for the next election cycle.

The former vice president’s interview follows the release of her new memoir, where she criticized the decision to let Biden run for a second term, describing it as “recklessness.”

Harris also accused the former president’s inner circle of neglecting her role and, at times, undermining her efforts as vice president.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that since her election loss, Harris has kept a relatively low profile, focusing on speaking engagements and community initiatives while maintaining close ties with Democratic allies.

Recall that Harris, who made history as the first female, and first Black vice president of the United States, was once seen as the future of the Democratic Party.

Her defeat in 2024 led to deep divisions within the party, but her latest comments hint that she may not be done shaping America’s political future.
