Stella Maris Okafor, the widow of late Nollywood actor John Okafor, known as Mr Ibu , has revealed that she is struggling with depression.
Naija News reports that she opened up about her emotional struggles through a video she shared on Instagram on Tuesday.
Stella, who lost her husband in March 2024, expressed that life has been unbearable since his death.
She said her children are the only reason she keeps pushing through each day as she continues to pray for peace and comfort.
She wrote: “I’m passing through depression right now only those close to me will understand I have suffered a lot I can’t wait for God to answer my prayers my children are the only happiness I have 😭💔 (depression is real).”
Before her post, Stella had shared a picture of her late son, recalling how he died 13 years ago after being poisoned.
According to her, the boy, who would have turned 16, passed away after they were kidnapped and later taken to the hospital, where he was allegedly neglected by medical staff.
She said the painful loss of her son and husband has left deep emotional scars, and she is now struggling to cope with the memories.
Mr Ibu passed away on March 2, 2024, after months of battling illness that led to multiple surgeries and a leg amputation.
During his sickness, Stella had shared that the family faced financial and emotional challenges, adding that several foreign hospitals turned him down for further treatment.
