Group Blasts Omodara Over Comments

LOKOJA – A social Cultural group under the aegis of “Kogi West Concerned Group” has warned the State Security Adviser, retired Commander Jerry Omodara, to refrain from his unguarded comments against the zone and rather redirect his energies toward fighting insecurity plaguing the state.

The Spokesperson of the Concerned group, Professor Daniel Bonire gave the warning in reaction to the comments made by Commander Omodara rtd on the sideline at a one-day workshop for women with the theme “Building Trust for a Renewed Hope” organized by his office in collaboration with Kogi Women Empowerment Coalition (KWEC) held on Tuesday in Lokoja.

The spokesperson stated that the era of trading the interest of the entire zone for crumbs was long gone, adding that the people of Kogi west deserve fairness, justice and equity in the political equation of kogi state.

The Concerned Group noted that the remarks by Senator Sunday Karimi for the rotation of kogi Governorship to the zone was an affirmation of an idea whose time has come and as such Omodara should tread with caution in order not to incur the wrath of the people.

The Concerned group lamented that rather than justify the huge financial allocation to him to fight insecurity in the state, Omodara chose to defend his selfish and personal interest against the will of the people.

The Concerned group described Sen. Karimi as a focused, courageous and unblemished senator who is ready to give his all for the emancipation of his people, no matter whose ox is gored.

Prof. Bonire cautioned the Security Adviser to come to terms with the statement made by Sen. Karimi which is in tandem with the will and wishes of the people , except people in the mould of Omodara who draws their livelihoods from the state government that would find fault with his opinion.

He likened those complaining of the statement as “happy slaves” in the present governance scheme in Kogi State who have been in office for over a decade without impacting the lives of their people.

He said: “Our people know them. They have sold their souls to the devil. They are content with being perpetuated in office, buying houses in Abuja, without caring for the wellbeing and future of the disenfranchised people of Kogi West.”

The Concerned Group wondered how the State Security Adviser will forget in a hurry his words of Commendation during the Inauguration of the Multi-million Naira Forward Operations Base FOB built by Sen. Karimi and urged him to come to terms with reality as 2027 and Kogi West’s desire which is to take a shot at Lugard House, after 34 years of State Creation .

He warned him and his co travellers to desist from comments and actions that will derail the collective aspirations of the people as they would be viewed as enemies of the agitation for PowerShift to the west senatorial district.

While pointing out that the people of Kogi West are appreciative and satisfied with the quality representation and accomplishment of Sen. Karimi in the Senate , would not hesitate to designate Omodara and his cohort as persons of particular concern to the zone.
