Nigerian national deported from India over visa overstay, drug peddling

Indian authorities have deported a Nigerian man, Onyeukwu Victor, for overstaying his visa and allegedly participating in drug distribution activities.

The deportation was carried out by the Hyderabad police on Wednesday, according to reports from The Times of India.

Victor, who entered India on a student visa in 2021, reportedly remained in the country after his visa expired in 2024.

Investigations by the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing revealed that he allegedly collaborated with drug suppliers and facilitated the delivery of substances to clients in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Authorities apprehended Victor while he was in Banjara Hills. No narcotics were found on him at the time, but he was unable to produce valid documentation or explain the reason for his continued stay in India.

Subsequent verification confirmed that he had overstayed his visa, prompting his deportation.
