Taraba Assembly speaker, deputy, 14 others dump PDP for APC

The Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Kizito Bonzena, and 15 other lawmakers have dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The speaker said at Monday’s plenary in Jalingo that he dumped the PDP over the factionalisation of the party at the national level.

He added that the 15 lawmakers have forwarded their defection letters to the House.

Bonzena stressed that the decision to leave the PDP was not personal but for the collective interest of the state.

The defecting lawmakers are the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hamman Adama Abdullai (Bali 2 Constituency); Majority Leader, Jethro Yakubu (Wukari 1 Constituency); Tafarki Eneme (Kurmi Constituency), Akila Nuhu (Lau Constituency); Musa Chul (Gassol 1 Constituency); and Josiah Yaro (Wukari 2 Constituency).
