Rabiu Kwankwaso has condemned the terrorist attack on a Christ Apostolic Church, CAC, in Eruku, Kwara State, calling on President Bola Tinubu to take urgent steps to address the growing insecurity in the country.
In a statement posted on X on Wednesday, the former Kano State governor expressed shock over the incident, noting that several worshippers were killed and others abducted.
Kwankwaso described the attack as another grim reflection of the rising wave of violence across Nigeria and extended his condolences to the families of the victims.
He urged the Federal Government to act swiftly to ensure the safe rescue and return of those kidnapped.
He said: “I am appalled by the terrorist attack on a church in Eruku town, Kwara State.
“Reports confirm that a number of members of the congregation were murdered and abducted during the attack.
“As I have repeatedly pointed out, this horrific incident is yet another grim reminder of the alarming surge in violence disturbing our nation.
“My deepest condolences go out to all the victims and their families during this painful time.
“Once again, I urgently call on the Federal Government to take immediate and decisive action to secure the safe release and return of the kidnapped victims.”
