Lasisi again stated that Taibat attempted suicide by drinking cement after he handed over their first child to the police when he stole.
The plaintiff said he was no longer interested in going further in their marriage and thus prayed for its dissolution.

Taibat accused her husband of always being in the habit of beating her.
According to the defendant, she landed in the hospital the last time her husband beat her.
Lasisi, in his evidence, said, “My wife started living with me a few months after we met.
“I did not pay her bride price.
“Getting married to my wife was the greatest mistake I ever made in life.
“My joy and peace had deserted me since I got married to her.
“Taibat treated me with disdain and placed no worth or value on whatever counsel I gave her.
“We fought almost every day because she is rigid and stubborn.
“My wife refused to cooperate with me in raising our children well.
“These led to their being involved in shady activities.
“Our first child stole my mother’s money, and I got him arrested by the police.
“My wife rather than bow her head in shame decided she would put me in trouble.
“She mixed cement in water and drank.
“She was rushed to the hospital and placed on admission.
“I paid through the nose while she was in the hospital.
“My lord, Taibat almost ruined me.
“She was in the habit of destroying my property any time we fought.
“She went as far as destroying the machine I used in feeding the home.
“I got so angry and frustrated that I arrested her with the police.
“My wife is also delvish and diabolic.
“She was fond of pouring strange substances all over the house.
“My mother once caught her pouring a fetish object on my doorstep, and she reported to me.
“My wife to chagrin went to fight my mother in her shop and threw away her wares.
“I moved out of our home when it was obvious that my wife would succeed in sending me to an early grave with her many atrocities.
