Did she forget to pack a bikini?

On Sunday night, Kim Kardashian shared a series of Instagram photos from her recent trip to Rio de Janeiro to promote her latest project, Hulu’s “All’s Fair.”

And while she chose an ivory Conner Ives dress with side cutouts and feathers for the show’s Brazil premiere, she later changed into something even more delicate for a nighttime dip in the ocean.

The shared photos show Kardashian splashing around in the surf while wearing an iconic vintage Alexander McQueen dress made of draped nude-toned chiffon.

“shipwrecked in rio,” she captioned the upload.

The dress was originally shown as part of the designer’s spring 2003 collection, which was aptly inspired by the ocean — with pirates and “drowned maidens,” as Vogue described at the time.

Along with models who walked the runway, a film played in the background, including frames of a model floating to the bottom of the sea wearing Kardashian’s very dress.

The reality star’s choice to take this historic chiffon gown to sea — quite literally — is questionable, especially as it was one of the iconic looks chosen for the late designer’s Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute retrospective in 2011, “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty.”

This isn’t the first time the multi-hyphenate has pulled from this very same collection.

At the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Kardashian wore McQueen’s iconic Oyster dress. The gown was reportedly a gift from her then-husband, Kanye West, and one of only two that was ever produced.

Sadly, it seems that zero percent of her followers are stressed about the fate of her latest vintage look. Instead, the comments were full of fire emojis and a hysterical reminder of “my diamond earrings,” when she lost a stud in the water on vacation with her family.

Though seemingly unconcerned for the historic design, sister Khloé added her two cents in the comments, writing, “You are such a freak for being in that water at night! It’s SUPER DARK outside in those pictures!! Are you well?”

We can only hope that Kardashian has the best dry cleaner in the world on speed dial, as the collection’s inspiration doesn’t exactly mean the looks were literally meant to be taken to sea.
