Insecurity: “We need support from our allies” – FG

The Federal Government of Nigeria has said that it needs the support of allies to end the insecurity bedevilling the nation.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume gave the assurance during a courtesy visit by a delegation of the Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) led by its President, Archbishop Leonard Bature Kawas in Abuja.

Segun Imohiosen, the Director, Information and Public Relations for the Office of the SGF in a statement issued on Friday, said the FG is committed to tackling insecurity.

According to Imohiosen, the SGF also called on regional and international allies to strengthen collaboration in the collective fight against insecurity.

Akume noted that the Tinubu-led administration is doing everything within its power to ensure the security of lives and property, and also sought collaborative support from international allies to fight the menace.

“But the government is seriously committed to eradicating insecurity. We need support from our allies to be able to fight terrorists in the land”, he said.

He also acknowledged the vote of confidence passed on the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

He stated that such is a testament to the efforts made by the present government toward tackling insecurity and other challenges facing the country.

Also speaking, the President of CBCN, Archbishop Kawas reaffirmed their commitment to support the Tinubu-led administration in its quest to fight insecurity.

He also announced that the CBCN has passed a vote of confidence in the administration.

Kawas assured the SGF that they are committed to praying for peace and unity to prevail in the country.
