2027 Elections: Edo ADC Unveils Coalition Partners

BENIN – Two former Edo State governors, Chief John Odigie Oyegun and, Senator Oserhieme Osunbor, as well as many other party chieftains on Tuesday graced the unveiling of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Edo in the South-south region of the country.

Others present at the event were Senator Roland Owie, Senator Ehigie Uzamere, Festus Igbinoba, the ADC National Chief Whip Mabel Oboh, the Assistant Publicity Secretary for the South-South Zone, Dr Isaiah Osifoh, Mike Ehima, Bright Honda, ADC, South-South youth leader, and others.

The National Vice Chairman of the party, Usani Uguru Usani, sent in his goodwill message, which stated that Edo state is very pivotal to the party’s success, noting that with the person of Chief Odigie Oyegun and others, the dream of the party will be realised.

Unveiling the party in Benin, the national chief Whip, Festus Igbinoba, who represented the party’s National chairman, Senator David Mark, called for unity, resilience, and renewed dedication among party members, emphasising that the unveiling represents “a new chapter for ADC in Edo State — one built on integrity, service, and collective progress.

Igbinoba further said that it should be noted that ADC is ready to take the mantle of leadership come 2027; therefore, all hands must be on deck to make such come to fruition.

Speaking also, Chief John Odigie Oyegun lamented that the situation of the country has gone from bad to worse, from hunger to starvation, noting that it is only the ADC as a party that can rescue the country from the present state.

Prof. Oserheime Osunbor, the legal adviser of the party, said President Bola Tinubu should emulate the former president of the country, Goodluck Jonathan, who said his election is not worth the blood of any Nigerian; therefore, he had to concede defeat to the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said the present administration has failed to provide security but is good at taxing its citizens.

Osunbor added that those who have come to join the ADC knew beforehand that the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a party was bound to fail.

He called all Nigerians to join hands with the ADC to chase out the APC in 2027.

In his speech, Ken Imansuangbonin said that the present administration should purge itself of corruption, adding that when such is done, things will fall into perspective in the country.

He further stated that the ADC has the wherewithal to right the wrongs in the country.

In his speech, the ADC Edo State Chairman, Hon. Kennedy Odion, commended all stakeholders, political actors, civic groups, and community leaders who have worked tirelessly to make the coalition a reality.

According to him “Your dedication demonstrates that when we put the interests of the people first, meaningful collaboration becomes not just possible, but powerful.

“As we move forward, let us remember that our true strength lies in our ability to work together. The ADC remains committed to promoting credible leadership, good governance, and policies that uplift every Edo citizen, irrespective of political affiliation. “
